Job Summary: The International VAT Associate, Global Indirect Tax Services is responsible for utilizing basic research skills as well as communication and organizational skills and applying their educational background when assisting with the preparation and delivery of advice to clients in a variety of industries on global indirect tax matters working with more experienced members of the VAT team. In this role, the International VAT Associate, Global Indirect Tax Services will be expected to develop technical skills and the ability to solve problems and work with both internal and external clients. Job Duties: Technical Duties:
- Assists clients and BDO client service teams in developing ideas, structures, and transactions with a focus on indirect tax matters
- Assists in researching, writing, and reviewing indirect tax advice to provide detail on what is required of companies and what foreign jurisdictions require regarding indirect tax.
- Carries out Research of international indirect tax matters
- Assists with the formulation of ideas and delivery of possible indirect tax savings opportunities
- Supports more experienced staff to provide excellent client service and develop responses to client proposal requests
- Coordinates with other Firm specialists and client service teams on client and proposal work
- Maintains relationships with BDO indirect tax experts in jurisdictions throughout BDO International
- Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education:
- Bachelor's degree, required
- Juris Doctorate degree, LLM, and/or MBA, preferred
Experience:
- Leadership experience, preferred

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, preferred
Language:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and basic legal and tax research skills, including building models and analysis of financial and numerical data
- Solid organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details

- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. California Range: $65,000 - $110,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $76,000 - $110,000 Washington Range: $65,000 - $110,000
