Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking a sophisticated energy regulatory attorney to join our Energy Practice Group as a counsel-level attorney in our Los Angeles, Madison, Milwaukee, or Washington DC office. Qualified candidates must have broad experience with federal and state energy regulatory matters, particularly within solar, wind, storage and other renewable energy areas and energy transition sectors such as hydrogen, carbon, electric vehicles and microgrids. Experience with oil & gas regulatory matters is a plus.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in all or any of representing and advising developers, sponsors, lenders, tax equity, cash equity and other investors on regulatory matters relating to complex development and finance transactions, including equity and debt financing; merger and acquisitions transactions; and negotiating project documents including power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, share facility agreements and similar agreements.

We are seeking a client-focused, team-oriented attorney with 8+ years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate must have strong client relationship, project management, and senior review skills, and will have demonstrated the ability to thrive and prosper in enterprising and complex environments. Additionally, this candidate will have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and an exceptional work ethic, coupled with a desire to be part of a collaborative environment.

To be considered, a candidate must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where the candidate is admitted to practice. Timely admission to the state Bar coinciding with the office of hire will be a condition of employment.

Pursuant to the CA Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act, the expected salary range for this position is between $350,000 - $475,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Pursuant to the Washington DC Pay Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Washington DC based position is between $350,000 - $475,000.
