Pharmacy Technician Trainee - Inpatient - Full Time - (Moross) Detroit

Join Henry Ford Health as an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Trainee and make a meaningful contribution to the Inpatient Pharmacy Team.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Shift: Full Time 40 Hour - Rotating Shift

Location: Detroit, MI (Moross)

Pharmacy technician trainees are trained to become pharmacy technicians. The trainees will be in a hybrid program where they complete their modules online and spend time with licensed technicians to learn how to be a pharmacy technician in the inpatient setting. Provides pharmacy services and technical support under the supervision of a pharmacist, as allowed by the Board of Pharmacy.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems, subject to Pharmacist verification and final check.
• Fills medication carts on a daily basis, subject to Pharmacist verification and final check prior to dispensing.
• Assists in order preparation and maintenance of inventory for the pharmacy department, including expiration date checking.
• Repackages bulk medications, subject to Pharmacist verification.
