Job Description

Design, architect, and install Cisco network infrastructure, configurations, and equipment such as routers and switches. Provide support and maintain multi-site networks, including bandwidth optimization between sites. Develop strategic network roadmap to incorporate system hardening best-practices, along with continuous improvement practices in network design and architecture to meet system performance and security requirements.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 10 years professional experience as a network solutions engineer or network architect, or 15 years direct job experience with a demonstrated background supporting increasingly complex network solutions design.

Troubleshoot network problems by analyzing traffic and identifying errors in hardware or software.

Conduct network audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommending improvements to security measures.

Create and maintain network maps and diagrams.

Demonstrated success designing and implementing large-scale and complex network solutions, including disaster recovery/business continuity planning, and primary to secondary network fail-over.

Experience applying system security controls, policies, and rules across a segmented network to ensure smooth communications.

Demonstrated success optimizing and maintaining multi-site networks.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoE Q security clearance, (DoD Top Secret equivalent), is required for this job.

Preferred Qualifications

CCNA or equivalent professional network certification

Experience supporting large-scale enterprise networking solutions, including high-availability network architecture planning, and primary to secondary network trunk fail-over.

Experience configuring and administering Cisco FTD (Firepower Threat Defense)

Strong IPv6 configuration and design expertise

WAN failover technologies such as SDWAN, or equivalent

Experience supporting software defined networking tools such as NSX and ISE

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
