Assumes overall responsibility for all activities related to the distribution of fabric/leather swatches within Bernhardt Textiles. Maintains a safe and accident- free work environment.

Organizational Relationships

Reports directly to the Plant 7 Cutting/Sewing Supervisor. Coordinates efforts and works closely with the Director, Textile Sales Operations, Textiles customer service and purchasing teams, and appropriate factory personnel.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee sample request portal to ensure timely fulfillment and distribution of customer requests. This includes checking for duplicate requests and advising Main Office of large sample requests.

Working hours for the Lead position will be 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Orders should continue to be filled until 3:50. at which time packages should be brought to the main office for Fedex pickup (around 4:15). Changes in working hours, including an increase or decrease in hours will be determined by the Plant 7 Cutting/Sewing Supervisor.

Manage sample inventory using inventory spreadsheet provided by management. Lead position will advise swatch employees what needs to be sent to the sample maker. All products sent to the sample maker will be noted in the inventory spreadsheet, to know where things are at all times.

Oversee all new launches, using the master specification binder provided by product development. Samples are shipped to sales reps based on the distribution list provided by the Main office.

Ensure that all office supplies, packing materials, boxes, etc are maintained and ordered so that we do not run out.

Responsible for ensuring smooth operation of Bernhardt Textiles Swatch Department. Recommends and suggests procedures for improved work efficiency and continuous development. Corrective action and improvement recommendations can be made to Swatch department employees. If more serious issues need to be addressed, the Swatch Lead will make Plant 7 Cut and Sew Supervisor -or- Director of Operations aware. Must foster positive communication among Swatch personnel, and ensures the team is satisfactorily supported in their day-to-day activities.

Works closely with Bernhardt Textiles Customer Service and Purchasing, Director of Operations Manager, and the Bernhardt Design Plant 7T Operations Manager to solve daily problems.

Job Qualifications

-Familiarity with computer keyboard and keying; must be comfortable using a computer.

-Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as in a team.

-Must be organized, detail oriented and be able to prioritize tasks.

-Cutting, serging and gluing experience or knowledge preferred.
