Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring program success by leading the PPAP for assigned programs. Reporting to the Quality Engineering Supervisor, the Quality Engineer will support the Regional APQP Engineer by participating in the creation of PFMEA's, CP's, and process documentation.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years Tier 1 Automotive Experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • 6 Sigma Green Belt preferred and proven competence using advanced problem solving.
  • Practical experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools, tool usage and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Competent in problem solving tools such as 8D methodology (Fishbone, 5 Why, etc.)
  • Competent in quality tools, and process/production control methods such as (Control Plans, FMEA, GD&T, MSA, PPAP, SPC).
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings to ensure the understanding of the agreed quality parameters and product specific requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and listening ability.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience with Tesla or Extrusion preferred.
  • Abides by Hydro's company rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Understands that performing job tasks in a safe manner is the highest priority.
  • Reports any unsafe condition or act immediately to Supervision or HSE Manager.
  • Fills out 'Near Miss' paperwork on any unsafe condition or act.
  • Understands Hydro's safety initiatives and acts as facilitator on the floor to promote those initiatives.
  • May be asked to participate in accident/incident reviews and develop corrective actions.
  • Responsible for housekeeping and 5S in his or her respective area of work or areas as directed by the departmental supervisor.
  • Employee will wear proper PPE.
  • Able to work in extreme heat and cold conditions.
  • Complete an IMS2.0 entry for any safety issue or injury.
  • Active commitment to continuous HSE improvements.
