Job Summary:

Hydro Extrusion North America is seeking a Category Manager to become a key member of the Extrusion North America (Non-Metal) Procurement team. The individual holding this position will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies and projects for a wide range of indirect categories. This role will focus on optimizing spend, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the delivery of cost-effective and high-quality goods and services to support plant operations. The Category Manager will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to drive value, efficiency, and continuous improvement in the procurement process.

The individual holding this position will report directly to the Sr. Director of Non-Metal Procurement and will work closely with Hydro's global supply base, global procurement team, plant procurement, and internal stakeholders (e.g., senior leadership, operations, engineering, maintenance, finance, and legal, etc.).

Required Education/Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, procurement, plant operations or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in category management, procurement, plant operations or related fields.
  • Focused experience in indirect procurement categories.
  • Experience leading and participating within project teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Experience developing a short/ medium/ long-term strategic approach to spend categories and supply base.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or relevant professional certification is preferred. (CPSM, CPM, CIPS)
  • Safety oriented and results driven.
  • Collaborative across diverse teams and environments.
  • Demonstratable leadership skills and business mindset.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Procure goods and services for Extrusion North America. Develop and implement sourcing strategies using market intelligence and supplier knowledge.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with key suppliers, securing favorable terms and multi-year agreements with strong commercial and legal conditions.
  • Supplier Management: Manage a supplier portfolio to ensure performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Foster long-term relationships, conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs), track key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement improvements.
  • Value Optimization: Analyze spend data to drive cost reductions, mitigate supply risks, and ensure vendor compliance with quality, service levels, safety, and sustainability.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with plant managers, maintenance, supply chain, finance, and other stakeholders to align service requirements with category strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance processes, streamline operations, and improve efficiencies across Non-Metal categories.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Develop reports on procurement performance, savings, and category trends. Use data analytics to monitor spend and track progress.
  • Compliance: Ensure procurement activities are ethical, documented, and compliant with internal policies, legal requirements, and corporate governance.
  • Travel: Up to 20% as required.
