What You'll do:

Plays a pivotal role in ensuring the functionality, quality, and user experience of applications, tools, and user touchpoints. This individual will primarily focus on validating and testing applications to confirm that they meet the necessary standards before deployment, as well as performing post-deployment testing to validate functionality. This role is expected to evolve into a Business Analyst position over time, offering opportunities for increased responsibility and growth within the organization.

The ideal candidate does not need a strong IT background but should possess an eye for detail, a passion for ensuring seamless user experiences, and an interest in growing into a Business Analyst role. This position will also include supporting the administration of Jira standards and workflows, creating visibility, and understanding of the team's processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Testing & Validation:

    • Perform detailed testing to validate the functionality and user experience of applications, tools, and user touchpoints, ensuring they operate as designed.

    • Test applications post-deployment, including after patches and updates, to confirm that functionality remains intact and that no issues arise from changes.

    • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure Engineering Team work is ready for successful deployment.

    • Develop an understanding of the NPMS Applications from a user's perspective and educate others on their use and best practices.

    • Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements based on testing results and user feedback.

  • Jira Support & Administration:

    • Support Jira workflows, including epics, stories, roadmap, and backlog management.

    • Help track and organize tasks within Jira to create visibility and ensure transparency in team processes.

    • Collaborate with team members to ensure that Jira is being used effectively to document work and track progress.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Facilitate meetings with structured agendas, meeting notes, and clear action items.

    • Ensure that expected outcomes and outputs are communicated effectively to both the client and the team.

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address any challenges or issues impacting the user experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

  • Progress toward a degree

  • At least 1 year of professional experience

  • Knowledge of GIS platforms and applications

  • Familiar with Jira or similar software project management tools

  • Familiar with the Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA)

  • Experience working with Federal organizations

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $50,000 - $70,000.
