Position Purpose
-
Part time/Adjunct faculty contract per semester to work in the Mahoning/Trumbull County area at the Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center. Part time/Adjunct faculty contract per semester. This position is responsible for the following:
- Present facilitative, well prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus and school policies; provide students with learning experiences that foster the development of attitudes and behaviors that reflect professional conduct.
- Participate in program activities to maintain accreditation standards both, administratively and clinically, associated with the medical assisting profession.
- Continually work to promote students' development and effective use of skills fostering the development of critical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, problem solving, and decision-making.
- Provide assessment of student performance, including assistance with or development of competency requirements.
- Participate in the use of instructional technology.
- Provide the student with timely information and feedback on his/her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects.
- Keep accurate classroom records.

Essential Functions

- Teach lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus and school policies.
- Attend Program and Advisory Meetings
- Keep detailed documentation with both positive and negative feedback on each test-out evaluation form.
- Keep an inventory of supplies and inform the program coordinator when supplies need replenished.
- Be available for open labs, if/when needed.
- Check SSC email on a regular basis for any correspondence from the College, Program Coordinator, and/or other faculty and students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-
- Requires a minimum of an Associate's degree in Medical Assisting or related healthcare field, Bachelor's degree in same is preferred.
- Current license/certification credential in a related healthcare field is required.
- Must be certified in Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy. (Additional EKG Certifications preferred)

- Prior classroom, laboratory and/or clinical teaching experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology.
- Candidate must be knowledgeable in course content, as evidenced by education and/or experience, effective in directing and evaluating student learning and laboratory performance, and be prepared in educational theory and techniques.
- Candidate must be willing to actively participate in college workshops, seminars, or focus days reviewing topics related to educational theory and techniques.
- Good organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- You should be proactive and able to find solutions independently.
Must be able to work in the Mahoning/Trumbull County area, specifically to the Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center in Lowellville, Ohio. Must be available during days and/or evenings.
