Qualifications High School Diploma or GED a minimum of 2 years proven experience with janitorial service and maintenance of buildings. Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision. Ability to prioritize tasks, accepts supervision, work with many interruptions, be trustworthy, especially in confidential matters, well organized and efficient. Ability to regularly lift and move 50 pounds. Possess a valid MN Driver's License, have good driving record, meet the MVR qualifications and pass the background check. It must be understood by the incumbent that the provisions of Safe From Harm will apply upon commencement of employment and also understood that the required Safe From Harm training be satisfactorily completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Summary of Position The Asst. Cook/Housekeeping will be responsible (under the supervision of the Guest Services and Contracts Manager ) to assist in the maintenance of camp facilities, grounds and equipment, kitchen services and janitorial. The incumbent will also assist with meal preparation, kitchen order/cleanliness. This is a Seasonal position with work week expectation from 30 - 40 hours a week. $19.00/hour, up to 40 hours/week Temporary: April 2025 - October 2025 60402 Elbow Lake Rd, Finlayson, MN 55735 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors. Manage Northwoods Camp kitchen and staff in the absence of the Kitchen Manager. (25%) 2. Prepares daily meals in accordance with the menu plan for the day. (40%) 3. Assists with serving meals and dining room operations. (10%) 4. Maintain the kitchen and food preparation area to meet the highest standard of cleanliness and in accordance with Department of Health requirements. Keep the kitchen in good order. (15%) 5. Plan and prepare facility meals in accordance with menus, making allowances for medically approved special dietary needs, and allergies. (5%) 6. Assist with special events and projects (e.g., setup, equipment transportation, teardown. (5%) 7. And all other duties as assigned. Housekeeping. (25%) 1. Perform all cleaning and sanitizing tasks including the cleaning of cabins, dorms, and guest quarters and community spaces. (42%) 2. Clean and sanitize all restrooms. (15%) 3. Maintain all dispensers: cleaning chemicals, soap, paper towel, toilet paper. (5%) 4. Deep clean as assigned during off season. (20%) 5. Clean windows and doors as assigned. (5%) 6. Keep all maintenance and janitorial supplies in good order. (5%) 7. Maintain cleaning and consumable product inventory and report shortages. (2%) 8. Sweep exterior building walks as needed. (2%) 9. Document and report all building maintenance issues. (2%) 10. Assist with guest questions and requests. (2%) 11. Follow all safety rules. 12. Report safety hazards to supervisor. Working Conditions There are normally no hazardous or significantly unpleasant physical working conditions, with the exception of the occasional emotional distress or turmoil (due to varying situations) with and between staff and/or clients. The essential duties and responsibilities of this position cannot be performed from home. |
