Job Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Quality Manager the QA Calibration Technician will primarily be responsible for coordinating calibration services for all calibrated equipment used in Amerex manufacturing operations. The QA Calibration Technician will also serve as a QA Laboratory Technician when necessary, which requires analyzing quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to management or production, monitoring performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, and communicating quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, outside vendors, or contractors

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate calibration requirements for all calibrated instruments and equipment used in Amerex operations in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017 standards
  • Complete internal calibration testing when necessary
  • Maintain valid calibration certificates with GageTrack system
  • Manage external calibration service providers while on-site
  • Support other Quality Lab Functions as necessary
  • Testing for incoming inspection
  • Testing of production
  • Testing required by Regulatory Agencies
  • Raw material chemical testing
  • DOT-required testing
  • Conduct root cause investigations of returned products and materials
  • Address and correct (with assistance from QA Manager/Engineers) issues found in production departments
  • Stop production if significant product defects are present.
  • Communicating issues with suppliers/other departments to correct issues
  • Return of rejected material to suppliers
  • Communicate with suppliers any issues that should be corrected/improved
  • Control runs of trial parts both internally and externally
  • Keeping Lab documentation current (WI, JSA, FE Performance Testing)
  • Interpret and comply with quality assurance standards
  • Review data to find opportunities for improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Overall rating of 2 or above on last reg. evaluation
  • No written warnings for any reason in past six (6) months
  • No attendance notification in past six (6) months
  • Mechanically/technically inclined
  • Transport & lift within Job & OSHA guidelines up to 50 lbs. as needed during shift
  • Pass Drug Test and Job Medical Fitness Review
  • Understand/use blueprints & precise inspection equipment
  • Work well with other Depts./EE's to achieve quality/goals
  • Operate test equipment technology
  • Inspection, testing & recordkeeping in timely manner
  • Follow verbal & written instructions
  • Must maintain acceptable evaluation/attendance

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience preferred
  • Previous laboratory experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and take precision measurements
  • Be able to work independently without direct supervision to accomplish goals
