Location:WA-Seattle Job Title: Meteorologist - KIRO TV Position Overview Do you have a passion for weather? Do you believe that weather is more than just a conversation starter? If so, we want you to join our dynamic team of meteorologists at KIRO 7 News in Seattle. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Create and presentweather forecasts for TV, OTT, and digital platforms Anchor traffic reports for the morning newscast as assigned Uses WSI and related weather equipment/technology to deliver the most accurate forecasts Responsible for pitching weather related stories for all platforms. Ability to write and produce stories and present them live on TV, and on digital platforms. Must be flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, as this is a full-time position Minimum Qualifications Experience in a variety of anchor/reporting scenarios, including studio, remotes, specials, etc. Very strong communication with the ability to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news Demonstrated ability to solve problems, prioritize decisions, and successfully manage multiple assignments concurrently in a high pressure, breaking news environment Understanding of emerging news production techniques and technology Active engagement in social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) Good collaborative and interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels Works well in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Journalism, Communications or Science preferred Completion of Certified Broadcast Meteorology (CBM) program through the American Meteorology Society (AMS) is preferred The salary range for this position is $93,600 per year to $109,990.40 to per year.
