Location - This position will be based in our Modesto Administration facility and requires working on-site with no telecommuting option. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.

Are you an organized and proactive individual looking to support a dynamic legal team? We are seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to provide advanced administrative support to our Legal Department Attorneys, Paralegals, and Senior Management. In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation of our department by handling a variety of tasks with precision and professionalism.

As a Legal Assistant, you will make travel arrangements, create itineraries, and schedule appointments and meetings. You will manage professional journal subscriptions, screen inbound calls, direct department visitors, and resolve both routine and complex inquiries. Your responsibilities will include distributing mail, coordinating department events, and ordering office supplies.

You will maintain the Legal department calendar, schedule calls and meetings, proofread and finalize legal documents, and prepare correspondence. Creating PowerPoint presentations, maintaining databases and electronic files, and managing hard files will be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will prepare check requests, process vendor expenses, and submit reports. Your role will also involve supporting research efforts and compiling information from public data resources.

What You Will Need:

  • High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of administrative and/or legal support experience reflecting increasing level of responsibility.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook at a basic level.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Skilled in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Discretion required in dealing with confidential information.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills including excellent telephone communication skills.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of administrative and/or legal support experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associate's degree plus 3 years of administrative and/or legal support experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Familiar with litigation pleadings (e.g., motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, court orders, etc.).
  • Familiar with citations to legal authorities (e.g., cases, statutes, regulations, etc.).
  • Experience with operating standard office equipment to include personal computers.
  • Experience with organizing, prioritizing and meeting deadlines while working on numerous on-going projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with MS Project and MS Publisher.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook at a intermediate level.
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures to include experience with composing and formatting correspondence, business proposals and presentations.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicates and works well with all levels of an organization.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $29.86 - $40.34 Hourly
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
