Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

Stellar Solutions is seeking Launch Systems Engineers, Integrators and Analysts to support the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Office of Space Launch (OSL). In this capacity, successful candidates will serve the customers critical needs as the focal point for launch systems planning, acquisition, integration and operations.

In this role, your duties and responsibilities will include some or many aspects of the following:

    Provide professional technical and engineering advice on Launch Enterprise capabilities including complex and critical facilities, systems and equipment operations, maintenance and future planning
  • Develop/coordinate/evaluate/review technical documentation and presentation material
  • Conduct independent and team-based impact assessments on launch capabilities and processes
  • Provide expert advice, assistance, and programmatic assessments in support of OSL management, organizational and business efforts
  • Support strategic planning and cradle to grave launch and launch support activities
  • Provide program and budget cost estimates across all OSL capabilities
  • Identify and evaluate programmatic and technical risks and develop/analyze mitigation approaches
  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate data, and make recommendations based on results
  • Develop and/or coordinate agreements with external agencies or mission partners
  • Assess impacts ranging from broad programmatic concepts to specialized mission requirements
  • Contribute directly to, or remain familiar with, the OSL strategic roadmap
  • Provide mission management and integration in all phases of planning and execution of satellite-to-launch vehicle integration for OSL assigned missions
  • Provide overall end-to-end mission integration planning coordination/support, integrated schedule development, Range coordination, readiness review preparation, technical procedure coordination, anomaly resolution, integration of mission requirements into government or commercial infrastructure, mission support and lessons learned adjudication
  • Collaborate as necessary across the NRO Enterprise, as well as external users and Stakeholders and development contractors
  • Support the training of mission operators and analysts
  • Identify early, pre-launch test opportunities to reduce risk and on-orbit validation test durations
  • Lead root cause analysis including closure for all routine actions are addressed
  • Assess adequacy of verification data/actions
  • Interface with key mission personnel from mission partners including launch vehicle contractors, satellite contractors, external agencies and other stakeholders
  • Actively participate in major design reviews, working groups, readiness reviews, technical interchange meetings splinter groups, etc
  • Provide strategic guidance and analytical assessments to OSL leadership to enable access to space for all relevant missions

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to convey information in a clear and articulate manner to teammates and customers
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing requirements and tasks and managing long-term tasks as well as short-term obligations
  • General knowledge of NRO/OSL or other relevant IC/DOD policies and procedures.
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Travel may be required less than 25% of the time
  • TS/SCI w CI Poly

Desired Qualifications:

  • Direct experience working in or with NRO/OSL
  • Technical degree
  • Experience in all phases of space launch life cycle

Locations: Chantilly, VA, Cape Canaveral, FL, Los Angeles, CA, Vandenberg, AFB, or Colorado Springs, CO

The typical pay range for this position is USD $80,000 - $230,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, retirement plan and other benefits (all included as part of package).
