Summary of Job Description:

The Risk Analyst (WC) investigates basic to moderate level of Worker's Compensation claims.This position works with Operations to ensure that their needs are being met and' that claims are being handled properly.Risk Analyst (WC) may represent the company in worker's comp litigated matters.This position analyzes claims trends to identify broader issues and recommends solutions. The Risk Analyst (WC) works with Risk team members, third party administrator, and other vendor partners to elevate the WC claims program.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigates basic to moderate level of Worker's Compensation claims.Maintains accurate diary and proactive review of claims. Responsible for claims results, including timely contact, investigation and disposition of claims.Achieves key metrics in alignment with risk finance objectives. Oversees the interactive process for injured associates.
  • Works closely with other team members in supporting the creation of risk and safety programs, training materials, and presentations to Operations. Demonstrates ability to enroll Operations and SC departments to elevate risk management standards.Triages claims at first report and makes decision about disposition and how claims should proceed.
  • Works closely with Operations on work related claims.Develops strong relationship with Operations and actively contributes to mitigate risk at the store level.Assists associates with their needs before, during, and after claims have occurred.Communicates regularly with claim adjusters, outside defense counsel, and insurance broker.
  • Collects pertinent evidence for claims files.Runs ad hoc reportsfor Risk department leaders.Contributes to safety compliance, exposure savings, and reduction of claims frequency and severity.
  • Conducts presentations and store site inspections on safety issues.Attends regional meetings and enrolls Operations compliance for safety programs.Achieve positive feedback from Ops and SC leaders.

Qualifications - External

Your background and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience required
  • ARM, AIC CPCU, WCCA and/or SIC (Worker's Compensation) certification(s) preferred
  • Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.

Pay Range: P2: $72,500- $101,500 per year

* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.

While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high. Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, have effective verbal communication skills, ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities, and the ability to manage conflicts/difficult situations.
