Spotter/Scale House Attendant

Waste Connections of Florida, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a Scale House Attendant/Spotterto join our team in Miami. This is a full-time, safety-conscious position that requires traveling around Miami-Dade and Broward counties to assist at various transfer stations.

Pay:$18.50 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

• TBD
• 45-57 hours a week
• 6 days a week

Responsibilities:

• Greet and direct customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.
• Weigh trucks in and out and calculate payments for customers.
• Transfer truck weight information from scale to the computer system and obtain appropriate signatures.
• Ensure incoming waste loads are safe and free from inappropriate material.
• Assist with phone inquiries in a professional manner.
• Perform clerical and general office duties (filing, paperwork, etc.).
• Provide general upkeep of the scale house, including cleaning and organizing.
• Monitor safety protocols, ensuring customers and employees are using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Assist in directing traffic, guiding customers to appropriate dumping locations.
• Communicate effectively with equipment operators regarding material locations.
• Spotter duties include monitoring safety practices and communicating with drivers to ensure smooth operations.
• Ability to handle up to 50+ lbs in this physically demanding role.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of work experience, preferably in a customer service or similar position.
• Must be willing to travel around Miami-Dade and Broward counties as needed.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and stand for long periods (8-10 hours).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong customer service skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both customers and team members.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a busy environment.
• Reliable and punctual.
