Stellar Solutions is seeking an experienced Vice President to lead a portfolio of programs across the United States Space Force and other space Defense customers. The successful candidate will have an idea where Stellar Solutions fits in the next generation of Navigation, Timing, Military Satellite Communications, Missile Warning & Defense, Launch & Range, Remote Sensing, and Space Control missions. Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

The VP, Defense is responsible for delivering mission success across the full life cycle, creating a climate of respect, and growing the sector in with multiple pursuits and proposals in a high-paced environment. You will work with your team to create the sector strategic plan and work through a staff of Directors to execute the plan to achieve growth goals. The successful candidate will identify gaps and emerging program requirements, perform market and economic analysis, conduct business intelligence in the industry, and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities. Stellar leaders are collaborative and work together to grow the company, to bring the best people and solutions to establish game-changing growth to the enterprise.

This role reports to the CEO.

Primary Responsibilities:

    Lead a team of systems engineers executing mission critical functions across the Defense sector; guide a worldwide portfolio of acquisition and operational activities
  • Establish a growth path based on mission success across the space Defense sector, leveraging insights and ideas from employees, customers, and industry teammates
  • Develop and nurture relationships across the national security space community, maintaining close ties with Government key customers and industry partners
  • Guide employees in dream job planning and execution to deliver on customer critical needs
  • Lead and support proposal activity to include prime and sub bids
  • Work with peers collaboratively to identify customer critical needs, create business offerings, and recruit talent
  • Maintain awareness of opportunities, customers, markets, industry developments and technologies
  • Develop and support strategic partnerships with industry leaders, driving innovation and new business opportunities
  • Represent Stellar Solutions in the industry through participation in industry-related organizations, conferences and panels

Basic Qualifications

  • STEM Bachelor's degree (engineering preferred) and at least 15 years of related experience or Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience
  • 10+ years of experience supervising or leading large-scale teams or programs
  • Proven track record of successful capture and pipeline management across multiple Defense customer R&D and S&T organizations and program offices
  • Ability to travel as required: approximately 25% per month
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Ability to use automated tools such as Microsoft Office to present ideas, information, and reports and a customer relationship management to track opportunities and manage pipeline
  • Candidate must be able to work onsite in El Segundo, CA, Colorado Springs, CO, or Chantilly, VA
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Government/DoD budget, investments and acquisition processes
  • Leadership skills to develop, organize and execute significant capture activities, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions, to respond to and win business with new and existing customers
  • Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish a solid working relationship with senior management, technical staff, division managers, and peers in the sector and across the enterprises
  • Management of a pipeline of opportunities in DOD or Civil preferred

Compensation:

The typical pay range for this position is USD $210,000 - $255,000 per year, total package including a significant profit-sharing retirement savings plan. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus and a full benefits package.
