Job Title : Warehouse Supervisor

Department : Distribution

Summary

Manages and coordinates activities of the warehouse by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Interpreting company policies to associates and enforcing safety regulations.

* Leader in the warehouse and company safety process.

* Provide supervisors with leadership in preparing work schedules, associates time, vacation request, periodic and yearly reviews

* Provide leadership to the team in managing to meet, or beat, the department's budget

* Provide leadership and coaching to the team(s) and delegates where necessary

* Developing, formalizing, and maintaining departmental work instructions

* Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the department activities (Glass Wall and Excel Reporting) in meeting department goals

* Recommending and implementing agreed upon measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department, work crew, and equipment performance



  • Specifically, Cycle Time Reductions (Delivery to Invoice)
  • Ownership of warehousing claims. All shipping claims <=0.02% of Revenue as goal
  • Inventory Accuracy Measurements >= 99.5% accurate
  • Productivity Measurements along with accountability for lack of performance (metric board)


* Ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged, managing cycle counts and reconciliation activities

* Identify, Develop & Implement solutions that drive process improvement through systems and/or process changes

* Developing and maintaining a great working relationship with Customer Service & Business Leaders

* Assist in Implementation of Changes to Corporate Strategy like moving from Distribution to Direct

* Responsible for supporting a healthy and effective "Lean Culture" participating in and leading 5S, Gemba walks, A3's, Kaizen events, Employee Suggestion Boards, etc. daily, weekly, or as necessary to promote continuous improvement to the benefit of our customer.

* Acts as site purchase order gatekeeper to record, monitor, and control all site expenses in conjunction with network leaders

* All other tasks as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the Shipping Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Education and/or Experience

Minimum Bachelor degree in Business in related field required. Three to five years of relevant warehouse experience (including one plus years of previous management experience).

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have and advanced level of knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); and knowledge of SAP is a plus. Also should have knowledge of general business computer software and an aptitude to learn new software applications.
