Job Title: Senior Mechanic Company: American Commercial Barge Line Location: Harahan, LA Job Type: Full-Time
Join our team to maintain the towboat fleet in top working condition by making necessary adjustments and repairs to machinery and equipment on towing vessels. You'll be responsible for inspecting, performing routine maintenance, planning repairs, and troubleshooting all vessel systems.

What you will be doing... Your IMPACT
- Make repairs to main engines, generators, auxiliary machinery, and other systems on vessels
- Track, schedule, and perform preventive maintenance on main engines and generator engines
- Maintain all documentation and other required paperwork associated with the repairs and maintenance of vessels
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and materials for the repairs of vessels
- Maintain documentation of repairs in maintenance database
- Assist outside vendors regarding repairs
- Performs all other duties as assigned
What we are looking for... You will need to have:
- 10+ years marine mechanical maintenance experience and repairs of associated equipment. Prior towboat troubleshooting and engine overhaul experience required.
- High School Diploma/GED is required
- Must be proficient with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques and tools
- Must be proficient in basic computer tools
- Must possess and maintain an active TWIC
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must be able to be on-call weekends and nights during assigned weeks
- Perform all work in accordance with ACBL safety & environmental policies and USCG regulations
- Must follow ACBL's Safety Management System for Vessel Engineering, Maintenance, and Repair activities
