Director, Shared Services Accounting

Basic Function

HF Sinclair in Dallas, TX is seeking a Director, Shared Services Accounting who will oversee and direct the company's transactional accounting operations and policies including but not limited to midstream accounting billing and collections,general payables, compensationaccounting, and Lubricants accounting. Ensures operational and financial controls, and promoting consistency, best practices and cost control.

Job Duties

  • Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs programs to control operational and transactional accounting processes
  • Determines work procedures, sets priorities, prepares work schedules and expeditesaccounting workflow
  • Maintains overall quality control for assigned accounting systems and ensures integrity of system processing and accounting policies and files
  • Establishes and directs the maintenance of efficient accounting systems for recording and reporting transactions
  • Manages and coordinates the compilation of data and information for monthly and year-end closings
  • Manages and coordinates corporate billings and general payables, and receivables.
  • Manages and coordinates midstream accounting functions for monthly and year-end closings.
  • Manages the development of and compliance with the Company'sAccounting Policies and Procedures for general accounting issues to ensure department is in compliance with GAAP
  • Oversees performance analysis, expense control and reporting, expense budgeting, analysis including variance explanations, cost control
  • Manages the administration of the Company'sfinancial accounting systems to ensure proper control over transaction processing, business rules and efficient system operations
  • Assists Corporate Controller and others with various financial accounting, reporting, planning and budgeting activities
  • Oversees the accounting processes and systems for Lubricant business units.
  • Lead the preparation of foreign statutory financial statements for the foreign businesses
  • Focus on continuous improvement opportunities to enhance AP/AR/Cash Apps key metrics
  • Lead projects to optimize and improve share services process through system and process automation, which includessystem implementation projects
  • Works on special projects as assigned by Manager


Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in general accounting with at least five years in a leadership/supervisory capacity and international oversight.A significant amount of experience in SAPalso is required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Five years of industry experience is preferred.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business, financeare required.

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

MBA andCertified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.

Required Skills

Ability to lead and direct the work of other senior management associates. Proficient with spreadsheet, database and word processing applications; strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills; strong working knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), SAP, tax laws pertaining to payroll and accounts payable and Fair Debt and Collection laws; detail oriented. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products and experience with accounting and maintenance software. A broad and deep understanding of accounting practices and procedures. Previous Inventory Accounting experience. Advanced ability to manage projects and assignments with extreme accuracy and efficiency. Advanced reading and writing skills; the ability to communicate effectively with others, both written and verbal; and to perform advanced mathematical calculations.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the supervision of approximately 50 professional accounting and managerial employees.

Work Conditions

Office based with travel up to 50% by land or air is required. Driver based environment. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions.
