Job Summary
Responsibilities
Responsible for day-to-day activities of Maintenance Department during five shifts of operation. Responsibilities include proper operation of all systems and equipment as well as administrative activities related to personnel reporting to incumbent. Must be able to manage the expense and overtime budgets. Oversees compliance to site's Energy Management System to ISO 50001. The individual is also responsible for compliance and operation of the Grand Island site's wastewater treatment plant. Salary Range: $119,149-$166,645 Position is eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan with a target of 14% of the base salary. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities include:
- Assure that all systems and equipment in the facility are in top operational condition.
- Review and modify the existing preventative maintenance program to fit the ever-increasing need for continuous operation of systems/equipment.
- Assure proper troubleshooting of systems/equipment to minimize down-time and eliminate re-occurring of problems.
- Provide leadership for people reporting to him/her and inform management of the current, as well as future, needs of the facility.
- Close working relations with Engineering staff and other supervisors and managers to implement projects.
- Assists operations in problem solving and process improvements.
- Maintains cGMP, EU, OSHA, and FDA compliance through implementation and adherence to SOP's and governmental regulations.
- Initiate change control, risk assessments, work orders, SOP's, CPA's purchase orders and other paperwork in compliance with company policy.
- Responsible to maintain critical parts on site in addition to inventory control of spare parts and 5S objectives.
- Responsible for meeting timelines and requirement of ECR's, AP for the area of supervision.
- Create and implement comprehensive training programs for staff to assure cross-training for staff.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ensure department personnel are aware of Fresenius Kabi's Environmental and Energy Management System including Environmental and Energy Policy.
- Responsible for ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are met under the requirements of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
- Assist the NYSDEC and environmental consultants with the renewal of the NYS SPDES permit every 5 years as needed
- Interpret agency guidance and regulatory changes, using knowledge from licensing education, continuing education opportunities and experience to comply with all EPA, DEC, OSHA and DOT regulations for air, wastewater, and liquid / solid wastes.
Requirements:
- Must have a good understanding of utilities systems, pumps, piping, boilers, and water treatment.
- Must have experience with high-speed filling/packing equipment (liquid).
- Must have a good understanding of electrical installation, power distribution and wiring.
- Must have a good understanding of electronics, relays, controllers, and programmable controllers.
- Must have a good understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Must have proven record of successful troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
- Preferable, must have a good understanding of cGMP.
- Must have previous supervisory/managerial experience.
- B.S. Degree in Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8-years Maintenance Supervisory/Manager experience.
