Position Summary

The new role of the Corporate Sector Leader will be focused on the ongoing development of an Integrated and Diversified Practice. As technology advances, markets grow complex, and customer expectations rise, the role is intended to drive sustainable growth through market strategy, data-driven insights, optimizing sector team performance, and pursuing innovative strategies to support HED's financial goals.

The Corporate Sector Leader will be supervised by the Co-CEO Marketing focused on developing and executing implementation strategies to drive the company's expansion into significant client accounts and projects, driving enhanced business development, sales, and client acquisition, while aligning with the firm's overall Strategic Vision.

Essential Functions

  • Review annual sector annual plans, with the task to develop and complement growth strategies in Key Market Sectors. The strategic areas of growth can be any in any sector, but focused on Healthcare, Science and Advanced Manufacturing, Workplace, and Mission Critical (as supported by the available resources of the company).
  • Client Acquisition and Retention: CSL will collaborate with the Business and Sector Leaders to attract new clients and retain existing ones, focusing on building strong relationships and delivering exceptional client experiences.
  • Project Leadership: Where appropriate serve as a Principal-in-Charge and account leader for appropriate assignments and including the typical duties of a sector leader.
  • Marketing and Branding: Complement the efforts of the Co-CEO and Marketing and Communications Leader(s) in a team approach, assisting in the firm's marketing efforts, ensuring that the brand is effectively positioned, and that messaging resonates with target audiences.
  • Revenue Generation: Focus on increasing integrated revenue streams as outlined in HED strategic plan(s).
  • Data-Driven Decision Making- Analysis and Performance Measurement: The CSL will leverage data analytics (through CRM, Power BI, etc.,) to inform their decisions, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and measure the effectiveness of growth initiatives.
  • Entrepreneurial Approaches: Promote the HED culture and mission internally and externally, encouraging the adoption of HED's processes while promoting the exploration of new ideas and approaches to growth.
  • Team Leadership and Development: CSL will assist in the mentorship of Strategy and Development leaders, providing them with the guidance to continue the growth of HED.
  • Core Values Alignment: Promote the firm's core values and work closely with Corporate Leadership, Business Leaders, and Sector team members, to ensure a cohesive and effective growth strategy.
  • Measuring and Reporting: Having a consistent feedback loop that tracks key growth metrics and provides regular reports to the Co-CEO's and other stakeholders is critical in the success of implementing the Growth and Strategy efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, interior design, or landscape architecture.
  • Professional licensure or board approved certification.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience with five years in business development.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional services from marketing through project close-out, including design and technical expertise.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the coordination aspects and related requirements of all design disciplines.
  • Ability to motivate others and develop teamwork; excellent writing and speaking skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Professionalism, assertiveness, decisiveness, integrity, and the ability to lead and influence, as appropriate for a senior level position that is highly visible to clients and staff.
  • Ability to interact appropriately in various business and social settings with all types of people.
  • Models HED's core values.
  • Capable of performing all the duties of a project manager (See position description).
  • Computer literate.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in writing and verbally via phone, video conferencing, and in-person.
  • Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
