Summary
Responsible for the care and safety of all patients under his/her care. Ensures effective communication with the charge nurse, the patient, staff, physicians, and other hospital departments.

Essential Functions
-Scrub procedure as assigned.

-Assist in work area in central sterile between scrub assignments prn.

-Assist in keeping overall operating room clean and tidy.

-Make sure room is cleaned, straightened and stocked before going off duty.

-Assist circulating nurse with care of the patient while in the room, providing nursing care to all patients of all ages.

-Check daily to keep abreast of new changes occurring in the operating room.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Associate's Degree Surgical Technology preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Operating Room Experience 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with instrumentation in the operating room.
- Strong understanding of surgical technology and surgical procedure.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
