Age Specific Responsibility:

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.

Summary

As part of an interdisciplinary team, the BCBA/Psychotherapist is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of behavioral assessments and interventions. Provide psychotherapy to select patients.

Essential Job Responsibilities

* Staff will provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification or registration and as required by law and regulation.

* Complete psychotherapy assessments and treatment plans to guidelines.

* Supervise ABA Behavior Technicians and implementation of treatment plans.

* Completes behavioral observation protocols and participates in research projects as requested.

* Provide counseling/psychotherapy to select patients under the supervision of a fully licensed psychologist, as assigned by Chief Psychologist.

* Participate in consultation sessions with the treatment team and parents.

* Complete required documentation according to protocols and within outlined time parameters.

Customer Service Responsibilities

Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members. This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information.

Responsibilities in Quality Improvement

Contribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions. Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.

Essential Job Qualifications

* Master's degree from an accredited university or institution of higher learning in psychology, social work, or counseling.

* Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required.

* Licensed or Limited Licensed as a Psychologist, Social Worker, or Counselor in the State of Michigan.

* Three (3) years prior employment experience in human service including multidisciplinary behavioral analysis and behavioral interventions.

* Clinical experience in assessment and treatment of neuro-developmental disorders and mental health/behavioral health disorders for individuals with developmental disabilities.

* Clinical experience in individual, family and group therapy settings.

* Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.

* Current Michigan driver's license with acceptable driving record.

* Current American Heart Association BLS Course for HealthCare Providers

Preferred Job Qualifications

* Demonstrated ability to engage in behavioral data collection and interventions with fidelity.

* Proficiency with the use of computers and knowledge of operational procedures.
