The Logistics Coordinator function is a critical component of Smith+Nephew's overall US Supply Chain strategy. We are the last mile and the difference between success and failure in thousands of hospitals and surgery centers each day, where our customers are helping their patients improve their lives. It can and will be stressful, but it is rewarding knowing that you played a critical part in the positive outcome for a patient whose life is being restored through our products. You are responsible for providing the US field with Ortho instrumentation built per the requirements. Accountability of products missing from deliveries is essential to ensure accurate inventory.

The Logistics Coordinator is an on-site member of the Set Build Team in the Commercial Shared Services facility. This role is responsible for inbounding, scanning, assembling, and shipping Recon instruments and Trauma full sets. Good working knowledge of company products, and operating system is essential.

What you will be doing?

  • Performs work duties accomplishing daily goals, including but not limited to, inbounding deliveries provided by the warehouse, scanning the content of the deliveries, assembling the sets, shipping the sets.
  • Multi-tasking and working under pressure are strengths needed. High stress at times during the day while balancing multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Each case "implants and instruments" we send out the door from our facility goes to the field to be shipped to the operating room. Accuracy and attention to details are critical.
  • Good housekeeping in all working areas. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, and meeting daily shipping requirements, by accurately following facility protocols and processes.
  • Must be flexible with role and helping teammates when needed.
  • Understand and perform the functions and procedures pertaining to the efficient operation of the Commercial Shared Services facility.
  • Assist during physical inventories and/or field cycle counts.
  • Learn our software Systems such as SAP used daily.
  • Train and direct other personnel in their duties, both clerical and physical.

What you need to be successful?

  • High school Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Minimum of 1 experience in a related field (e.g., Set Assembly, Operations, Logistics).
  • Lift 25 lbs. Standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling commonly occurring for long periods of time.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean record
