JOB DESCRIPTION This position is responsible for overseeing all activities associated with management of the Contract System Configuration functions for the enterprise. The Manager will work to maximize employee and system application productivity and quality of work and ensure effective and efficient operations, accuracy, and timeliness of contract setup in all the systems to meet business goals and facilitate accurate claims and/or invoice and enrollment processing for all customers. RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees all aspects of team operations, including staff evaluation and performance monitoring; trains and coaches staff to assist in professional development and ensure superior work quality. Represents Contract System Configuration for both departmental and company-wide initiatives; Actively provides direction and participates in both development and completion of projects. Oversees the vendor relationship and communicates business needs and system design options for enhancements and/or defect fixes; Ensures delivery of the enhancement meets business needs. Provides support for planning of new applications and other system infrastructure to identify gaps with existing system capabilities and opportunities available in new applications under review; Evaluates viability within existing application processing and workflow and directs prospective analysis of existing applications and other system infrastructure to identify continuous improvement and potential enhancement opportunities. Evaluates work/project requests to determine feasibility (cost/benefit analysis) and appropriate department resourcing; Ensures work and projects are completed within schedules and budgets and takes corrective action, as needed. Participates in goal development and monitors progress, working with staff to make adjustments as needed to meet or exceed established goals; Responsible for implementation of processes to achieve strategic goals. Responsible for budgeting and financial management for the Contract System Configuration area. Oversees development of training and procedure manuals encompassing all job functions. Reviews large, high-profile or complex benefit plan design requests to determine feasibility; Provides design alternatives to support complex configuration, and makes recommendations to upper management. Provides guidance and assistance to all levels of staff with complex or escalated issues. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications 8+ years w/Bachelor's degree; 1+ years supervisory/management Additional Experience A minimum of 6 years related experience in system configuration. A minimum of 4 years supervisory experience. Experience assessing future business needs and feasibility requests related to aspects of contract system configuration Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Ability to take initiative and demonstrate accountability for area of responsibility Detail oriented with strong analytical, and problem-solving skills and negotiating skills Strong organizational, time and project management skills, priority setting and multi-tasking abilities Excellent communication and customer focus skills Ability to create and promote a constructive work environment Strong leadership skills with the ability to encourage innovation and teamwork Knowledge of Delta Dental products, policies, claims, eligibility and underwriting procedures and guidelines High level of knowledge of Current Dental Terminology ("CDT") codes and dental nomenclature High level of knowledge of contract system configuration concepts, systems and dental policy processing guidelines Knowledge of health care industry issues Ability to effectively adapt to change and is comfortable handling risk and uncertainty PC literacy; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams) Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present written information and findings; ability to communicate concepts; ability to make executive-level presentations Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact well with all levels of staff, co-workers and outside contacts Base Pay Information The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications.
