The Role

Lumen Solution Architects are passionate about leveraging technology innovation to support the overall business objectives of our clients. We are customer-facing solution engineering professionals who work in partnership with our Sales & Customer Success Executives, leading innovative conversations that help shape the growth of Federal Special Program Clients.The professional in this role will help support Federal Special Program Accounts.

Secret security clearance required, SCI preferred.

Location

The professional in this role will reside in the Washington D.C Metro Area and work from home when not in client and team meetings in our Arlington or Herdon, VA offices once or twice weekly.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Leads and attends customer meetings in person and via collaboration tools.
  • Prepares and delivers technical proposals and presentations with the appropriate level of business acumen for the audience.
  • Demonstrates advanced solution selling abilities and effective, pro-active customer communications.
  • Crafts highly complex and custom designs to provide an integrated solution that differentiates Lumen's services and meet customer's requirements.
  • Internal feedback loop to product management, sales and customer success leadership teams regarding the business value, product features/functionality, and service implementation/management.
  • Acts as customer advocate, participating in pre-sales efforts including technical sales presentations, architecture design discussions, proof-of-concept engagements, RFP/RFI responses, solution demonstrations, and technical workshops.
  • Support local sales teams in pursuit of key business opportunities, engage customers to address aspects of the data lifecycle. Collaborate with Client Success Executive/Manager, Solution Sales Overlay teams, and Product Management.
What We Look For in a Candidate

Secret security clearance required, SCI preferred.

Five years of experience with technology focused in pre-sales, engineering, consulting or similar background.

Technical pre-sales and/or consulting experience with a progressive track record of increasing levels of solution complexity and responsibility.

Able to develop relationships and communicate with senior level federal technical staff and line of business leaders.

Possess knowledge of Enterprise Architecture and Design with ability to act autonomously across multiple technology areas.

Proficiency of technical solution knowledge across connected security, global network infrastructure, edge cloud capabilities, connected security, communication and collaboration services.

Experience in solution consulting - ITIL.

Strong understanding in Security solutions.

Strong understanding in Cloud & Architecture design.Azure, AWS

Strong understanding in Network Functions Virtualization.

Strong Telecommunications Layers 1/2/3/4/5/6/7

Communication: Ability to independently orchestrate & lead discussions with clients across many levels including C-level, VPs and Directors within IT.

Sales Abilit: Leads discussions with internal stakeholders to construct Total Cost of Ownership & evaluate Return on Investments for large enterprise customers when identifying & crafting customer solutions.

Approach: Highly proactive, consultative, creative and positive with a can-do attitude.

Problem Solving: Expert problem-solving skills and ability to methodically understand and resolve complex issues across multiple products to integrate into a seamless customer solution.

Presentation Skills: Excellent presentation skills as well as the ability to build and present high-quality solutions to both technical and executive audiences that articulate the business value of the technical solution.

Some Travel required.

Industry certifications are a plus.

Education: B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience in the private sector or military

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:
$127,344 - $169,785 in these states: VA.
