Job Purpose: Engineering Technicians perform plant maintenance and apply mechanical, electrical, automation, construction, and computer skills to precisely operate, monitor, design, service and repair a 24-hour LEED gold certified critical climate control system for a wide range of art that is sensitive to light, temperature and relative humidity. Engineering Technicians are responsible for servicing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and controls equipment with minimal plant downtime. Engineering Technicians assist in special event set ups. Required Qualifications: City of Saint Louis: Stationary Engineer's License Class. High school diploma and technical training in Industrial, HVACR, Facilities Technology or Control Systems Technology. Familiarity with NEC and NFPA. Ability to cut and thread, weld, solder, and braze various pipe materials. Job requires competent manual skills and the ability to handle numerous details with minimum supervision. Physical ability to do manual work, including lifting up to 45 pounds. Must be comfortable with heights. Must have computer skills. Must have good communication skills. Must be willing and able to work nights, holidays and weekends, as well on-call for unscheduled repairs.
