Daimler Truck North America LLC seeks a Project Controller - Global Powertrain based out of our office at 4555 N Channel Avenue, Portland, OR 97217. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Job Duties: Consolidate and analyze the financial feasibility of projects as well as establish and maintain targets for key project metrics (e.g. DCVA and Payback). Track project targets as projects moves through the project life cycle from concept phase to start of production. Prepare presentations of project financials and management briefings for Product Committee(s) [PSC, PC and DTAG BOM]. Establish project budget targets with engineering project management, track project budget and report on target deviations. Support the creation and documentation of approvals for expenditures (AFEs) for project funding. Create internal orders and approve purchase requisitions for project related spending. Work with asset management on proper capitalization for project related assets. Set cost targets on a part level and track them throughout the project life cycle. Provide cost guidance for engineering and purchasing in the design and procurement processes. Ensure that project reporting adheres to Daimler Truck guidelines. Participate in methods discussions to insure continues improvement of controlling processes. Work on continuous improvement initiatives - dashboards, databases, workflows to automate data collection, analysis and reporting. Conduct ad hoc business case analysis to provide recommendations and guidance on a wide range business decisions. Collaborate with Global Controlling groups. Participate in alignment calls, workshops etc. on global programs.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
  • 5 years of experience in Controlling, Project management, or as a Finance analyst.
  • Experience must include experience with: commercial vehicle development process; business case concept and calculation model, financial modeling experience and cost/funding target tracking; working in a global team and preparing management presentations; funding/cost/production systems for accounting, controlling, purchasing, engineering and/or manufacturing; capitalization, product costing and expenditures; developing data analytics solutions, e.g. dashboards, databases, workflows; MS excel (VLOOKUP, Macros, VBA); and data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx), Business case calculation tools (e.g. SPEAR).
