Description
Job purpose The Product Manager - Paving Strategy will be responsible for assisting in sales and developing a support strategy to gain market share in defined territory. This position will oversee, guide, and coordinate the sales and support of all asphalt paving, milling, and compaction machines in the CMD East region. This manager is responsible for developing relationships within the road construction industry and attend industry related shows. Duties and Responsibilities
- Create business plan for future paving division based on growth initiatives.
- Develop customer list and identify their needs, recommend specific machines best suited for customer's use.
- Assist salesmen with customers to develop market opportunities for road construction products.
- Provide customers with detailed product information.
- Design demo and loaner program to help facilitate sales.
- Follow product orders and communicate with customers for delivery.
- Communicate with aftermarket support teams to provide exceptional service after the sale.
- Develop training programs for future technicians that will support product line.
- Build dedicated service organizations once growth initiatives are achieved.
- Manage relationship between customers and WPI.
- Works to identify and align resources for increased sales and aftermarket support.
- Attend trade shows within the industry as required.
- Evaluate additional paving product manufacturers for partnerships.
- Evaluate the Texas paving market within WPI footprint and build business plan for expansion upon success in the WPI East territory.
Qualifications
- Must possess at least 6 years related experience in road construction machines.
- High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree in business preferred.
- Must possess a valid state Driver's License.
- Must be accustomed to significant travel.
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

- Extensive knowledge of road building equipment, operations and related technologies.
- Proven strong interpersonal skills to communicate project plans, goals and objectives coordinate resources, and complete projects within scope.
- Ability to understand and explain product benefits and value proposition.
- Must be able to work effectively as a member of a cross functional team.
- Must understand company goals and demonstrate daily actions to meet the needs of the company.
- Ability to coordinate and schedule priorities and work independently.
