Join Our Team as an HVAC Maintenance Technician at Gallo Winery in Modesto

Are you an experienced HVAC Maintenance Technician looking for an exciting opportunity to grow and make a difference? Gallo Winery is seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our team. As an HVAC Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our winery and family residences by performing building maintenance service calls, preventative maintenance, routine equipment checks, and special projects. Your expertise will help us maintain the highest quality standards while keeping costs low.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment, including evaporative cooling towers, chillers, boilers, pumps, fans, HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, and more. You will design and implement new systems and controls when needed, and coordinate maintenance operations with various departments within the winery. Your ability to monitor and review the progress and accuracy of work, supervise outside contractors, and mentor lower-level mechanics will be essential to our success.

We value teamwork and collaboration, and you will have the opportunity to participate in planning teams and work cross-functionally. Your daily responsibilities will include performing routine equipment checks, making necessary repairs and adjustments, and developing plans for efficient use of materials and equipment. You will also troubleshoot problems, log service calls, and prioritize tasks to ensure timely and effective maintenance.

What You Will Need

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of professional building maintenance mechanic or professional mechanical maintenance experience, to include Commercial or Industrial HVAC Electrical and plumbing experience, and reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Available to work weekends and after-hours as needed.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Available to attend classes, seminars or technical trainings to stay current on activities related to building maintenance.
  • Required to lift and move up to 100lbs; lift and carry 75lbs up flights of stairs and ladders.
  • Comfortable with climbing ladders, working on building rooftops and crawling through tight spaces (e.g. attics and basements).
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
  • Possess strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Self-motivated team player; experience recognizing and solving maintenance problems / issues and suggesting improvements.
  • Skilled in maintaining professionalism and experience working with all functions and levels of the organization.
  • Experience working independently.
  • Experience using and operating building maintenance equipment such as welders, torches, vacuum pumps, volt and amp meters, computers, plumbing and light equipment.
  • Skilled in understanding and executing verbal and written instructions.
  • Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting common maintenance journals and equipment O&M documents and diagrams.
  • Experience listening and responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Experience communicating effectively, verbally or in writing with customers, peers and stakeholders.
  • Experience effectively presenting information to customers, contractors, managers or other operational areas.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications and HVAC computer and HMI control system applications.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Skilled in welding and fabrication.
  • Skilled in knowledge of permits and compliance of Air and Quality permits, including state mandated reporting.
  • Skilled in building static pressure systems.
  • Ability to enforce standard work, Job safety Analysis (JSA) and quality with contractors. Understands the policies and practices associated with managing impact of change including Notice of Change (NOC) and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Skilled in use of Microsoft Office applications will ability to create Power points for presentations and Excel and Word documents for training, tracking and standard work.
  • Ability to work with department and intradepartmental planning teams and working cross functionally.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $ 36.11 - $48.80 / hour
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
