POSITION SUMMARY The Director, Data & AI Governance will lead data governance efforts, shape AI strategy, and ensure compliance with standards and procedures within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop a robust data governance framework that enhances data stewardship, change management, data quality, data catalog and metadata management, and master data management.
- Lead AI governance efforts, establish comprehensive policies, and align AI strategy with enterprise strategies. Oversee AI governance integration with enterprise objectives. Translate governance decisions into projects, ensure implementation and value delivery
- Shape AI strategy, influence policy, ensure compliance with regulations, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish and manage enterprise Data and AI Governance Committees, create structures for efficient decision-making, AI risk management, maintain ongoing inventory of AI use cases, value creation and drive consensus.
- Collaborate with legal, audit, privacy, risk management, and external entities to ensure AI governance frameworks comply with standards and regulations.
- Partner with application, clinical, HR, finance, and operational teams to facilitate the safe design, configuration, testing, verification, validation, deployment, and adoption of AI solutions, leveraging well-governed and trusted data in a matrixed delivery model.
- Define frameworks for sensitive data management, data protection, obfuscation, access management, and usage.
- Manage data protection standards, collaborate with delivery teams, and support remediation of control deficiencies.
- Develop and deliver training programs on data and AI governance, data quality, privacy, and AI ethics to improve overall enterprise data fluency.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
- 10+ years driving and managing a data governance program.
- Prior experience in governing AI/ML models, and/or AI product management
- Experience navigating AI and data regulatory landscapes and developing compliant governance practices.
- Experience with SQL, PowerBI, data catalog/data quality and lineage tools.
- Expertise in developing and implementing scalable data governance practices and frameworks.
- Experience with CHAI
- Previous experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. Azure), python, predictive models, preferred.
- Prior experience in governing AI/ML models, and/or AI product management, prefered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of key regulatory frameworks like the EU AI Act and NIST guidelines.
