JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION:

This position configures, updates, and repairs electronic security system equipment. Such equipment may include but is not limited to servers, workstations, video wall appliances, peripheral equipment, communication devices (Network switches), premise control units (panels), and keypads. Position requires a working knowledge of computer hardware, networks, and electronics. This individual is expected to have troubleshooting abilities and a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:



  • IAT Level I Certification required
  • Two years of relevant work experience
  • Two years of postsecondary education in information technology, computer science, or related field; or two years of additional relevant work experience
  • Basic knowledge of electronics, managed networks, computer hardware & software
  • Professional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised in a team environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Experience with Cisco managed switches
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Visio
  • Experience with Microsoft Server and Client Operating Systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains and Salesforce a plus


SPECIFIC DUTIES:



  • Build and configure projects per system design and detailed instructions.
  • Image computers with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Save and migrate system configuration images to secure storage server.
  • Assist with analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation related to equipment returns and repairs.
  • Partner regularly with Customer Service Tech Support regarding warranty and non-warranty service repairs.
  • Create emergency and backup images.
  • Configure peripheral equipment such as printers, fingerprint readers, cameras, etc.
  • Collaborate regularly with Configuration Management team to ensure integration processes correspond with departmental standards.
  • Open product packaging, apply asset tag labels, and repackage products in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Generate reports and record asset configuration data.
  • Enter configuration data into asset management system and /or spreadsheets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including general warehouse support as needed.


NOTES/REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must be able to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds.
