Lead a team of 5-15 software engineers (Westinghouse and contractors) who are experienced and focus the Instrumentation & Control (I&C) safety common Q software, specifically on the Flat Pannel Display Systems (FPDS) and the Safety Human System Interface (SHMI) Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the effective performance of the safety software team. This include but not limited to the team working consistent with the I&C safety system's Software Program Manual (SPM) meet the planned cost (including utilization of resources to meet assigned targets), ensuring the team work in a Nuclear safety culture as well as personnel and Industrial safety awareness.
Prepare and successfully identify needed training and development plans for Common Q software team with emphasis on critical project needs as well as long-term resource needs. Focus on identifying & targeting engineering skills to ensure an added value to the customer.
Develop innovative solutions in the safety software developmental process and products to meet customers and business needs. This includes process automation projects in the software area - identifying "breakthrough" process improvements, technologies, and cost improvement objectives.
Provide leadership for the team to work in collaboration with other I&C teams (e.g. hardware, interface with non-safety systems and software) as well as other Westinghouse organizations (e.g. plant and field components, safety analysis, etc...)
Supervise the Common Q / PMS software team to evaluate new opportunities, develop and proposed solutions, provide cost estimates to those solutions and quantified risks for new opportunities to support the WEC I&C bid and proposal phase.
Orchestrate and continuously improve cost efficient product delivery which meets or exceeds business plan objectives
Drive continuous improvement and standardization in the safety software area Education and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
