Job Summary and Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to lead and manage the stakeholder relationships, communications and outreach efforts for Acentra Health in New York. This role will be the lead in development of the stakeholder plan and build and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders including State Medicaid Department, advocacy groups, social care networks, health plans, local departments of social services, and providers. Work will be performed in close alignment with the Executive Director and the State Medicaid leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creating and executing a state-approved and coordinated Stakeholder Outreach plan that includes communications with advocacy groups, training for providers and other interested stakeholders, creating feedback loops for the operational team and serving as the SME for Acentra Health's IA operation for external stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain stakeholder relationship map in NY and develop relationships with most influential stakeholder to understand their unique needs and perspectives on IA program areas.
  • Advise Acentra Health leadership on environmental challenges and opportunities as well as creation of engagement opportunities for leadership with stakeholders.
  • Lead team of regional stakeholder engagement managers who will be working with LDSS, health plans, and providers
  • Work with Government Relations team to follow and understand New York healthcare and Medicaid policy changes, including 1115 waiver implementation, and potential impacts on the IA program.
  • Advise Executive Director on stakeholder management
  • Work with training team on creation of Acentra Health IA training plan for stakeholders and assisting on the outreach to stakeholders for the training itself.
  • Implement stakeholder advisory councils as needed to obtain actionable feedback from stakeholders to improve Acentra Health's IA program and its operation.
  • Follow NY and federal healthcare climate to anticipate concerns and plan proactively
  • Represent Acentra Health at advisory groups and meetings with stakeholders where the IA program is discussed, identifying and addressing advocacy concerns
  • Collaborate with IA operational team in the development of appropriate communication materials and the most appropriate and effective distribution channels for specific target audiences
  • Collaborate in the development and monitoring of project plans, timelines and budgets and assists in the completion of project reports when possibl
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree
  • 4 years of experience with healthcare government stakeholders

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Previous experience in New York state with Medicaid stakeholders including advocacy groups; existing relationships are highly preferred
  • Previous experience managing a field-based team that works with stakeholders.
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Requires advanced Microsoft Office, desktop publishing and graphic software skills preferred.
  • Requires the ability to develop needs assessment methods, both qualitative and quantitative research for information related to databases of public health.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently on assigned projects, especially cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals; attention to detail; ability to work independently.
  • Travel will be required.
