Description
The salary range for this position is $68,400 to $72,200, depending on experience and qualifications. Summary Performs the Accounts Payable function according to the organizations established policies and helps to set policies. Reviews invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness. Processes invoices for payment including posting and processing of check runs in a timely and accurate manner. Is responsible for ensuring proper cutoff of payables at month end.
Key Responsibilities: * Oversee and train all AP clerks, while providing feedback, coaching and conducting performance management. * Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of AP subledger to the general ledger. Makes entries into the general ledger as needed. * Prints checks for special purposes when needed with proper approvals. * Responsible for record keeping at month-end including cut-off dates for current month-end, recording open but received purchase orders and recording invoices for the current month not yet recorded in the accounting system. * Identifies and reconciles noncompliance with accounts payable by team and brings to management attention, elevates to executive level as needed. * Prepare reports for management, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement. * Monitor and maintain the integrity of internal controls within the accounts payable team and processes. * Leads process improvement initiatives within the AP realm * Maintains all 1099 vendors throughout the year for year-end processing.

Education and/or Experience * 3-5 years' experience in Accounts Payable * Associate's degree- Accounting preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Must be detail oriented with a comprehensive knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping systems and accounts payable procedures. * Proficient computer programs including accounting software, spreadsheets and word processing. * Proven experience supervising staff and managing processes * Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office * Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines * Ability to communicate and work well with others. * Must work effectively under minimum supervision and be able to organize and maintain accurate records.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment The position is primarily an office-based position with no known significant hazards.
