Daikin Applied is seeking a talented Sr Manager, Identity & Access Management. The Senior Manager, Identity & Access Management (IAM) will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IAM program, ensuring that access to critical systems and data is properly managed and aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. What you will do:



  • Strategy & Implementation:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive IAM strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives and security policies
    • Lead the selection, implementation, and configuration of IAM tools and technologies
    • Define and enforce IAM policies, procedures, and standards
    • Establish processes for access requests, approvals, reviews, and certifications
    • Design and implement role-based access control (RBAC) models
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR, HIPAA)


  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Lead and mentor a team of IAM professionals
    • Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including IT operations, security engineering, application development, and business units
    • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
    • Develop talent, foster a culture of accountability, and establish clear performance objectives for the IAM team


  • Operational Excellence:

    • Monitor and analyze IAM system performance and identify areas for improvement
    • Develop and deliver training and awareness programs on IAM best practices
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in the IAM space
    • Participate in security incident response and investigations as needed


  • Risk Management and Assessment:

    • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities in the IAM program
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.





    • Translate business objectives into IAM capabilities that reduce risk, improve operational efficiency, and enable digital transformation
    • Position IAM as a foundational component of Zero Trust, aligning it with enterprise risk and security programs
    • Report IAM risk posture, maturity, and progress to stakeholders and governance committees



  • Vendor Management:

    • Manage relationships with IAM vendors and service providers
    • Evaluate and select IAM solutions and services based on business needs and industry trends


  • Audit and Compliance:

    • Conduct regular audits of IAM processes and systems to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
    • Prepare and present audit findings to senior management and recommend corrective actions


  • Incident Management:

    • Develop and implement incident response plans specific to IAM-related security incidents
    • Lead investigations and remediation efforts for IAM-related security breaches


  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Establish a continuous improvement framework for the IAM program, including regular reviews and updates to policies, procedures, and technologies
    • Implement metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the IAM program and identify areas for improvement


  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Engage with senior leadership and key stakeholders to communicate the value and impact of the IAM program
    • Advocate for IAM initiatives and secure necessary resources and support


  • Integration with Other Security Programs:

    • Ensure seamless integration of the IAM program with other security initiatives, such as data protection, network security, and application security
    • Collaborate with other security teams to develop a holistic approach to enterprise security


  • User Experience and Usability:

    • Focus on improving the user experience and usability of IAM systems and processes
    • Gather feedback from end-users and stakeholders to enhance IAM solutions

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information security or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in IAM architecture and engineering
  • 4+ years experience in management
  • Advanced understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, and CMMC
  • Mastery of information security policies, standards, and industry best practices


  • Strong understanding of IAM concepts, methodologies, and best practices
  • Hands-on experience with leading IAM solutions (e.g., SailPoint, Saviynt, Okta)
  • Experience with RBAC, access certification, and privileged access management
  • Knowledge of identity lifecycle management processes (e.g., onboarding, offboarding)
  • Familiarity with directory services (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP)
  • Understanding of security protocols and standards (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect)


  • Ability to regularly make decisions that impact the implementation of plans to achieve annual departmental and organizational goals
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelors Degree in related field
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of information security and compliance principles
  • Certifications such as Certified Information on Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $126,100 - $215,000 (+ 25-30% bonus) in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
