Summary:

As part of the CSO Office, the Senior Director of Strategy leads the strategic planning, execution planning and project management office of Americas regional strategies for all Hitachi businesses, cooperating closely with internal and external stakeholders to help deliver our key strategic business goals.

This role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and is a highly visible role, working closely with business unit leaders and executives across many Hitachi groups. The ideal location for this role will be our Santa Clara campus but we will consider remote for the right candidate.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Based on the Hitachi's growth vision in Americas region, build strategies for short term (next 12-18 months) and midterm (five years).

  • Define the future state of Hitachi business in the regions, incorporating latest trend in the market, client, and competitor landscape.

  • Define growth-driven, optimal organization structure.

  • Support region's leadership team in presenting in various forums to increase Hitachi brand value

  • Work with respective stakeholders in both corporate and business unit and functions to build execution plan for such strategies.

  • Monitor market/competitor/client/technology trend for Hitachi's businesses in Americas region

  • Stakeholder management: building and nurturing strong relationships with key external and internal senior stakeholders including influencing executives.

  • Suggest improvements to existing business strategies to drive growth.

  • Drive and oversee the progress of multiple key strategic projects.

  • Support the preparation of strategic business cases and presentation materials.

  • Manage and contribute to strategic projects utilizing problem solving frameworks.

  • Defining problems and strategic solutions - scoping, analyzing, preparing, and presenting strategy checks.

  • Conducting strategic research.

  • Identifying issues, developing hypotheses, and communicating insights and recommendations to key decision makers

  • Developing a reporting schedule of all Executive reporting Committees and designated committees

What You Bring to The Team

  • Bachelor's degree, Advanced degree or MBA highly preferred.

  • 10+ years of total relevant experience in Strategy or management consulting

  • Deep knowledge about IT tech, market, and industry, with special focus on digital service, product/digital engineering, and other managed services.

  • Experience in working cross-cultural environment.

  • Advanced program and project management skills and a demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams and external advisers.

  • Strong relationship skills, prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, working against tight timelines.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand dependencies in the information technology and software industries.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present to executive audiences.

For California only (as required by California's Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $204,720 - $255,900. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America's variable pay program, subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
