Position Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist performs routine and complex ultrasound exams, evaluates requisitions, and ensures patient-centered care while maintaining quality control and efficient workflow within the department. They also provide training for trainees and fellows, support patients and families, manage equipment issues, participate in research, and uphold hospital values and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Ultrasound Examinations - Conduct routine and complex ultrasound procedures, review imaging requisitions, and adjust techniques based on patient needs and clinical signs.

  • Support Patient and Family Care - Create a supportive environment for patients and families by addressing their physical and emotional needs and practicing high-reliability communication.

  • Maintain Equipment and Workflow - Identify and report equipment malfunctions, assist with scheduling, and help ensure efficient departmental workflow.

  • Provide Training and Guidance - Instruct trainees and fellows in ultrasound procedures and serve as a knowledgeable resource for staff.

  • Engage in Professional Development and Research - Stay current on regulations and best practices while actively participating in ultrasound-related research projects.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • Associates degree required; Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Experience

  • 3 years of experience as a Sonographer required

Certification/License

  • Registered by the ARDMS.
  • Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARDMS certification and registration.
  • BLS certification.
