The US Oncology Network is looking for a full-time IT Services Specialist (ISS) to join our team at Texas Oncology! This full time position will support our Palestine (periodically) and Tyler, Texas locations.

What does the IT Services Specialist (ISS) do?

Provides high-level support to the Sr. Director, IT Operations in supporting the many construction projects across TXO (new sites, remodels, expansions) and as time allows, assist with normal day to day operations of the desk side /network support, hardware\software configuration, backups, and Radiation\Imaging. Self-directed daily work for both short and long term plans and goals as directed by management to improve the services and support for the applications and hardware utilized in our environment. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Provides experienced insight related to the unique aspects of IT infrastructure both before site construction, during, and then assist with IT related move-in and setup activities.
  • Provides technical guidance and high-level assistance to fellow technicians, serving as point of contact (POC) for escalation from fellow techs. May be a subject matter expert in one of the key areas of IT Operations
  • Provides support and high-level guidance in system access security and user capabilities
  • Helps management manage the relationship between local IT and escalation points within McKesson
  • Enforces and supports the IT Change Management process
  • Supports and ensures that SLA guidelines, as well as local practice IT and McKesson policy and procedures are being followed and completed in a timely manner.
  • Crafts and recommends guidelines for operational efficiency within supported disciplines.
  • Supports a complex IT environment encompassing numerous vendors, interfaces and challenging stakeholders.
  • Reviews and recommends purchases and/or upgrades on various hardware and software components.
  • Provides regular staff performance feedback to management.
  • Supports management in working with staff to manage projects\tasks and to ensure a smooth transition between project deployment and operational responsibility.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

  • Associates degree in Information Systems, business or related technical field required.
  • A+, Network+ or other hardware certifications preferred.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Work history with medium to large enterprise operational environments, both business and technical is preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in support of Windows based systems and other business applications, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Support of Windows based and other business applications, enterprise resource planning systems, standard desktop applications (MS Office, McAfee Antivirus, internet browsers, email) associated hardware platforms and peripherals, remote troubleshooting and mobile computing, and troubleshooting network connectivity.
  • Any combination of education and experience that meets the minimum qualifications and suitability to perform the job functions.
  • Travel as needed from Tyler to Panestine location.
