Description

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Identifies opportunities to achieve site strategic targets and drives Continuous Improvement across all site departments and functions to achieve those targets. Partners with area leaders in building a sustainable Continuous Improvement culture, leverage data and analytics to support behavioral changes. Develops organizational capabilities in the proper use of Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies to solve problems at all levels of the organization. Leads projects and programs of significant scope to drive organizational transformation. Coordinated CI efforts across the site, ensuring standardization of practices across the campus and coordinates site actives with the Global CI Team.
  • Leadership:
    • Act as a key member of the leadership team to identify opportunities to deliver step-chage performance.
    • Work with the leadership team to define the area master plan to achieve long term objectives.
    • Build the Continuous Improvement portfolio to achieve site targets and implement sustainable governance of the project portfolio including project intake, selection, and execution.
    • Drive specific programs, projects, and kaizen events to deliver transformational results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
    • Act as point person for implementation of regional and global CI initiatives.
    • Facilitates cross-functional problem solving to support the High Performance Management System.
    • Communicate with stakeholders across multiple departments to coordinate Continuous Improvement activities and resources.
    • Work with all levels of the organization to ensure sustainable implementation of improvements, both behavioral and technical.
    • Leverage communication, negotiation, and leadership skills to drive initiatives and gain buy-in from stakeholders at all levels
    • Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement community to share best practices.
  • Technical:
    • Utilization of tools and best practices for Continuous Improvement including, but not limited to Six Sigma, Lean, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Standard Work, Line Balancing, 5S, Visual Management and Root Cause Problem Solving.
    • Adapt standard Lean and Six Sigma tools to a complex, high-speed manufacturing and supply chain.
    • Model equipment capacity using Theory of Constraints and detailed loss analysis to drive througput and efficiency.
    • Utilize advanced statistical methodologies to analyze trends and identify action plans.
    • Assist with the development and administering of training on Continuous Improvement to align with the business needs.
    • Stay up to date on Continuous Improvement best practices.
  • Quality / Compliance:
    • Drive a zero-defect mindset into manufacturing process improvement.
    • Conduct all Continuous Improvement activities within the guidelines of safety and regulatory statue requirements.

Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of demonstrated proper utilization of CI tools and methodologies for projects and programs showing tangible savings or benefits
    • Engineering / Scientific / Supply Chain / Business Administration degree preferred
  • Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (Black Belt preferred)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical software
  • Must be action and results oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet established deadlines; must be a self-starter and be able to work independently as well as being a team player
  • Project experience leading cross functional teams
  • Strong ability to manage up and provide program updates to executive leadership
