As the Sr. EHS Specialist, you will help drive a comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety program for the PPG Little Rock facility. You will provide leadership, direction and training that will ensure a safe and healthful workplace for our associates while ensuring compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations. Close interaction with all levels of the manufacturing, technical and engineering organizations is required to ensure a consistent and unified EHS message. Actively interact with employees and leadership to promote the PPG EHS culture. Champion and mentor the various employee EHS Committees throughout the facility and encourage employee participation and engagement. Serve as the site Process Safety Management (PSM) coordinator. Dedicate daily time on the production floor engaging (communicating, influencing, collaborating) with employees, supervisors and management to support a "One PPG" EHS culture. Manage and drive all environmental, health and safety compliance and management system functions and activities. Maintain communications with the EHS Manager, Industrial Segment SBU Global Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and colleagues. Manage aspects of the EHS training program, including developing effective training materials, delivering instructor led training, training record management and new employee safety training. Drive key safety initiatives including Job Safety Analysis, site safety risk assessments, risk mitigation, and Management of Change. Support site management and provide coaching and review of incident investigations and corrective actions through 5-Why and other incident investigation methods. Facilitate internal audits and self-assessments. Assist operations in addressing audit recommendations. Ensure completion of required EHS inspections. Assist with administration of workers' compensation program to determine areas for increased training and emphasis on accident prevention. Actively role model all company environmental, health and safety standards. Industrial Hygiene Program owner.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or related Science. 3 or more years of experience in the EHS field, preferred manufacturing and/or chemical setting. Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and consensus standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, Workers' Compensation), inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews and incident investigation techniques. Process Safety Management experience would be advantageous. Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels within the organization.
