Be the Difference in Space Systems Integration
Astrion is seeking an accomplished Senior Space Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO) Requirements Support Cell (RSC) at USSF Space Systems Command (SSC). In this pivotal role, you'll help integrate space system-of-systems capabilities across the SSC portfolio and the broader USSF Space Enterprise, ensuring mission success for our nation's most critical space programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the integration of cross-cutting space capabilities in collaboration with SSC stakeholders and USSF mission partners.

  • Conduct requirements traceability from Mission Area to System level, identifying and closing capability gaps.

  • Perform Mission Engineering for Design Reference Missions, analyzing mission threads to uncover risks, issues, and gaps.

  • Develop and deliver technical briefings, reports, and architectural roadmaps to senior leadership.

  • Partner with SWAC, CSRO/S5R, and PEO offices to define and prioritize integrated requirements across SATCOM, PNT, Missile Warning/Tracking, TacISR, SBEM, BMC3, Launch, and related mission areas.

  • Recommend Science & Technology (S&T) investments to address emerging space mission needs.

  • Contribute to war rooms, capability epochs, and kill chain assessments to shape enterprise capabilities.

  • Support enterprise requirements development and JCIDS documentation.

  • Analyze the policy and technical implications of cross-cutting space requirements, recommending practical, mission-driven solutions that balance performance, cost, and sustainment.

Basic Qualifications
  • BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Earth Science, Mathematics, Operations Analysis, or related field.

  • 15+ years relevant experience (exceptions considered for exceptional expertise).

  • Strong skills in requirements engineering, mission analysis, and systems integration.

  • Proficiency with MS Office; adaptable to new analytical tools and environments.

  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

  • Willingness to travel as mission needs require.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in space acquisition (military, contractor, or DoD civilian) as a SETA or equivalent.

  • Deep understanding of the DoD acquisition lifecycle and JCIDS processes.

  • Background in SSC mission areas such as SATCOM, PNT, MW/MT, Space Weather, C3BM, Space Superiority, ISR, and Ground/Network segments.
