This position will assist the Formulation Systems Team in designing and implementing robotics systems for Sherwin-Williams R&D. Job duties include contact with other employees and access to confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships. Additional Responsibilities include:
- Design, program, test, implement, and support laboratory robotic systems. Target skill set by functional area is listed below. Competency in all functional areas is not required.
- Programming: program debug, code enhancements and small changes
- Electrical Design: small panel design, troubleshooting
- Mechanical Design: moderate AutoCAD/Solidworks skills
- Provide technical support for existing robotic systems. Conduct Accelerated Root Cause (ARC) to identify root cause of issue.
- Continuous Improvement: identify and implement programming and functionality enhancements for robotics systems to improve performance
BASIC QUALIFICATION: * Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status). * Must be at least 18 years of age FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: * Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics ("STEM") field Preferred: * Bachelor's in Robotics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: * 3 years or greater related education or work experience in designing and/or implementing laboratory robotics/automation * Excellent organization, planning and project management skills Preferred: * 5 years or greater related education or work experience in designing and/or implementing laboratory robotics/automation * Experience with robotic configuration and programming TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required: * Logic based programming experience * Windows operating system experience * MS Office Preferred: * Denso programming experience * Beckhoff PLC programming experience * AutoCAD experience * SQL programming experience * Six Sigma Green Belt training TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 10% Upon completion of construction, the individual selected for this role will primarily work at the new Sherwin-Williams Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio. Construction is expected to be complete in 2025. Until then, the role will be based at Breen Technology Center, located at 601 Canal Road, Cleveland, OH 44113.
