Job Summary
Perform locksmith functions for campus. Install, maintain, inspect and repair mechanical and electrical locks. Install and repair all manner of door hardware. Coordinate the key tree. Evaluate and edit door hardware schedules. Monitors daily operations of other locksmiths. Design, recommend, purchase, and install door-related solutions.
Minimum Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent; five years experience commercial locksmithing and access control; ability to setup master key systems in a university environment; Ability to read and understand construction plans and door hardware schedules; valid Texas drivers license and an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Education and Experience

  • OSHA 10-Hour Training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees activities and duties performed by the team members of Key Shop; provides training. Performs duties alongside the team.
  • Takes the lead in preventive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinates daily work and dispatches locksmiths with work orders.
  • Reviews and updates Division 8 and door hardware schedules.
  • Recommends purchases for repairs and new installations.
  • Trains employees and develops a cohesive, well-functioning team.
  • Designs and maintains key tree for the university; coordinate with BEST for their CORMAX services. In conjunction with supervisor, hold key tree meetings with campus customers for new buildings and as part of the the campus wide rekey project.
  • And other duties as assigned.
