Position Overview

Thie Debit Card Specialist/ Senior Debit Card Specialist is responsible for the monitoring of the Bank's EFT & Payment Systems focusing on identifying preventing fraud within debit card transactions with the utilization of various software systems.

Essential Job Functions



  • Work alert queues and reports daily, contacting Retail Staff to verify charges with their customer.
  • Monitor Debit Card and ATM transactions with the utilization of Mastercard and Pulse systems in order to make recommendations to create new rules or refine existing rules that are needed to uncover and prevent possible fraudulent card transactions.
  • Temporarily white list customer transactions, as appropriate.
  • As necessary, back up other Electronic Fraud responsibilities, such as mobile deposit monitoring including placing Reg CC. holds, or other departmental functions.



Additional Responsibilities of Senior level



  • Serves as an EFT Payment Fraud Subject Matter Expert to others within department and across functions.
  • Provide comprehensive data that feeds into quarterly departmental metrics (KRIs and KPIs).
  • Work with internal business partners to identify fraud trends based on Reg. E claims being submitted by customers.
  • Participates in the training and support of new team members.



Minimum Requirements - All levels



  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and two or more years of Retail Banking experience or related Operations function; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Minimum Requirements - Senior Level



  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and two or more years of direct experience working within the ATM/Debit Card fraud monitoring function.


Competencies



  • Proficient in using core banking software (Jack Henry) and Windows office software.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment; prioritizing work and multi-tasking.
  • Basic knowledge of Bank services and products.
  • Ability to readily adapt in response to changes in schedule and work priorities.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply the information contained in company manuals, policies and practices relating to fraud mitigation.
  • Ability to cooperate with others and work as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and be proficient in its operation.
  • Strong problem-solving, research, process management, organizational, data review and time management skills.


Preferred, but not required



  • Two or more years in retail bank fraud experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Financial, or other related fields of study is preferred.


Note: Job levels and hiring decisions are based upon both the business needs of the department and the qualifications of the incumbent. In some cases, an incumbent may meet the requirements of the senior level, but may be hired in at a lower level based upon department needs and staffing dynamics.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Pay - Level I - $50,500 - $64,000

Base pay - Senior Level: $53,500 - $70,000
