Candidates must hold any level of Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification or Master Addiction Counselor (MAC). In addition, a current Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license is required.

SUMMARY:

The Substance Abuse Credential Senior Licensed Mental Health Clinician (CADC or MAC) provides services to people who experience serious mental illness. This includes substance abuse assessment, recovery focused treatment planning, group and individual training, and group and individual counseling, as well providing crisis intervention if necessary. May provide clinical quality review of other's work. Provides service coordination and/or linkage to community services that meet the needs of the individual patient/consumer and engages in crisis prevention and management as necessary. May work in the hospital, outpatient clinic, or community settings, including support provided in the home, at work/school, or in shelters.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in Counseling or Behavioral Sciences is required.
• Two (2) years of experience with the SPMI and/or Additive Disease population, preferably in a full-time status, is required.
• Active Georgia LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) licensure is required. Candidates transferring from another state must obtain Georgia license prior to start date.
• Certification as Peer Specialist with Addictive Disease through the Georgia DBHDD/Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network required.
• Certification with American Heart Association for Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Any level of Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) Certification is required.
