Position Summary
In this role you will perform routine procedures in MRI on a scheduled and emergency basis while providing a safe environment for patients and following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate requisitions for MR imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
  • Select appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.
  • Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Magnetic field environment.
  • Respond to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • Associates degree in allied health

License/Certification:

  • Current MA Radiologic Technologist license for MRI
  • MRI registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) and completed within 18 months of hire date.
  • Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification.
  • BLS certification.
