I. JOB OVERVIEW


Job Description Summary:
The Division for Student Affairs fosters an inclusive community that promotes connection, growth, and well-being for every student throughout their GW experience. The Student Program Associate provides critical support and guidance to student organizations through fiscal responsibility, operational procedures and administrative support and training.

This role will help oversee GW OrgHelp, which offers centralized financial, administrative, and event planning services to 500+ student organizations through email support and drop-in office hours .

Responsibilities and job duties include:

  • Manage GW Org Help, the drop-in and email student organization support service, prioritizing efficient processes and high-quality, student-centered service.
  • Use Anthology Engage to manage and support student organization logistics, including financial transactions, travel reservations, event planning and support, and contract processing.
  • Develop training and support resources for student organizations on university policies and procedures, including fiscal responsibility.
  • Support student organizations in the effective management of funds.
  • Cultivate meaningful and productive relationships with student organization leaders and members by initiating critical conversations, having a visible presence, and by maintaining regular communication with organization leaders and membership.
  • Lead the design and implementation of expanded services and contribute to the continuous branding and marketing of Org Help, including the incorporation of printing/copying and equipment rentals.
  • Lead the recruitment, training, and supervision of a team of Org Help undergraduate student staff. Manage hours, office schedule, and tasks for student staff.
  • Communicate essential policy and process information to student organization leaders through email and other media, including web resources.
  • Writes and sends the Student Organizations newsletter
  • Escalate, triage, route, and track inquiries as appropriate.
  • Remain up to date on best practices and trends in undergraduate student engagement.


The position is based at GW's Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC but may require travel across campuses. The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Degree in higher education administration, business management or related field
  • Experience within a student affairs department
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with personal computers and the use of database software
  • Proficiency with Google Suite products
  • Experience working with student organizations
  • Demonstrated experience working with a wide-range of underrepresented populations and a critical constructivist approach to working with student organization leaders
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with Anthology Engage platform

Hiring Range $45,925.13 - $63,191.56
