Engineering Technician
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Engineering Technician to provide Engineering Technical support for Sensor Distribution Systems (SDS) modernization and upgrade initiatives in Virginia Beach, VA.
Job Description:
- Assist in the preparation and development of installation plans, part lists, instructions, checkout plans, test procedures, handbooks, and drawing for installations.
- Provide installation support services, material, and supplies as required for preparation and installation of software products aboard ships, other watercrafts and/or shore site facilities.
- Provide hardware and software system engineering support and liaison for software products during the conduct of shipboard or shipyard installation and testing.
- Conduct Development Testing/Factory Acceptance Tests and Evaluations (FAT&E).
- Participate in performance of Government System Tests such as: Development Tests, Program Acceptance Tests or Operational Test evolutions, Combat Systems Integration Testing, Government Acceptance Tests, and other similar tests that are performed to authenticate and certify programs.
- Assist with the development of Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Change Requests, and Ship Change Documents.
- Provide lab support for Harvesting of Material and Testing, Assembly, Packaging, Inventory of Spares.
- Submit requests to Receive, Transfer and Issue material.
- Coordinate between Installers and material management team in generating 1149s and shipping material.
- Provide shipboard installation support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma and 5 plus years of experience with naval systems, SSDS, and/or SDS.
- Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (I.e., Project and Excel)
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working on Dam Neck Annex Base, preferred.
- OSHA 10-hour Safety Certification, preferred.
- CANES system design experience, preferred.
- Fabricating and Testing Fiber Optic, power, and networking cables experience, preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret Security clearance, and the ability to maintain clearance.
- Must maintain clearance eligibility to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional Travel- less than 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (no later than position start date) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
- Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
- Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year
